Gaming and Gambling Awareness Education Programme

Staff at Lighthouse have this week have received the Gaming and Gambling Awareness Education Programme delivered by YGam.  This was an interesting session with lots of information on how to support children and young people to stay safe whilst online and how to avoid the options which can lead to spending money whilst playing a game.  We discussed the ‘Loot Boxes’ which apply in lots of games and the charges involved in playing these.

See attached the link to the Parent Hub, which has lots of information, support and resources for parents/carers to read to be more aware of the gaming and gambling that occurs on some games at such a young age.
