Financial Support
There is no charge for either the pre-internship or supported internship programme. However, if you are concerned that money may prevent your child from fully participating in college life, then financial help may be available.
In general, if your household income is less than £26,000 per year, you may be able to apply for a bursary. Please note however, that although we are provided with funding to offer bursaries, they are limited so it is best to speak to our business manager as early as possible.
Bursaries can be used to help with:
- Travel to/from college
- Any specialist equipment that they may require
- Allowances for lunch/meals
Some students can also access a student support scheme which can provide extra funding of up to £1,200 a year.
This is for the following students:
- Fostered or looked after young people, those in kinship care, or care leavers
- Those receiving income support or universal credit in their own right
- Those receiving disability living allowance, personal independence payments or employment and support allowance.
Further details will be provided during induction and can be found in our Bursary Policy here.
